Presidential in Gabon: Ali Bongo embarks on the race for a third term

#Gabon : Gabon’s President Ali Bongo Ondimba is running for a third term. “2023 is fast approaching. I will be there with you and for you”, he launched to his supporters who attended the 54th anniversary of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG), in power.

Ali Bongo Ondimba launches into the race for a 3e mandate at the head of Gabon. The Head of State took his political opponents on the wrong foot by declaring himself ready for the 2023 presidential election, during the ceremony on 54e anniversary of his party, the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG), in power in Libreville.

“2023 is fast approaching. I will be there with you and for you. The only way out will be victory. A close, clear and indisputable victory, so that the work begun is completed”, he declared under a round of applause from thousands of militants and sympathizers of the party.

Gradually overcoming his health problems, Ali Bongo Ondimba therefore broke the silence on his own succession in 2023. In any case, this is what his statement of the day suggests.

Ali Bongo is more than convinced that the Gabonese people support the PDG and in proportions almost never seen in the whole history of this party. “The momentum is in our favour. Every day, we garner support, “he rejoiced, alluding to the mergers-absorptions and the return of the pédégistes (members of the CEO) who tried themselves in the opposition. “As in the Bible, we must welcome them with open arms. They are our brothers, they are welcome,” he said, aware that they are so many tributaries who join his river, the flow of which continues to grow.
