Presidential Decree on Resignation of Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Signed by Jokowi

PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) signed a Presidential Decree (Keppres) on the resignation of John Wempi Wetipo from his position as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri). Presidential Decree published September 27 2024.

“Mr President has issued Presidential Decree Number 62/M, dated 27 September 2024 concerning the honorable dismissal of John Wempi Wetipo,” said Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana in a written statement, Monday (30/9).

The issuance of the Presidential Decree regarding John’s resignation due to running as a candidate for governor in the 2024 Central Papua Regional Election. Jokowi has expressed his gratitude for John’s service and dedication.

“Accompanied by thanks for his service and dedication while holding this position,” said Ari.

Previously, the Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Mendes PDTT) Abdul Halim Iskandar and the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah also resigned from their positions. The two National Awakening Party (PKB) politicians have submitted their resignation letters to President Jokowi.

“Mr President has received resignation letters from Mr Abdul Halim Iskandar and Mrs Ida Fauziyah,” said Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana in a written statement, Monday, September 30 2024.

The resignations of Abdul Halim and Ida are related to their appointment as elected members of the DPR for the 2024-2029 period. Both will be inaugurated on Tuesday (1/10). (J-2)
