Idrissa Seck is preparing to announce her candidacy for the Presidential of 2024, relays seneweb. Former Prime Minister Abdoulaye Wade wants to break with President Macky Sall.
During a meeting with the executives of his party, Rewmi, he mentioned the third term as a reason for breaking with the head of state. “It was my disagreement with Abdoulaye Wade, and it also became so with Macky Sall,” he said.

Some Rewmi leaders are not in favor of this break desired by Idrissa Seck. Two party officials, Moustapha Messeré and Mouhamed Cissé, will not follow him in his new electoral adventure. “You have to show loyalty in politics,” said the latter, who was Benno Bokk Yakaar’s candidate in Touba in the last legislative elections. “It’s a suicidal strategy for the party,” denounced Moustapha Messeré.
The two men wish to continue their alliance with Benno Bokk Yakaar and support the candidacy of President Macky Sall. It should be remembered that he has not yet clearly expressed his desire to stand for a third presidential term. However, many movements and personalities, especially during investiture meetings, encouraged him to solicit the vote of the Senegalese for a second five-year term.
