On the 13th, President Yoon Seok-yeol visited Dongrae Market, a traditional market in Busan, toured the stores and gave New Year’s greetings to the merchants.
President Yoon visited the rice shop in Dongrae Market that day and said, “I feel like I came to the market with my mother when I was young. The traditional culture of the traditional market is still there. Please take good care of the market.”
He then stopped by a seafood and dried fish store and shook hands with each of the merchants. He also waved his hand and said, “Happy New Year and stay healthy.”
This is President Yoon’s second visit to Dongrae Market, following his time as a presidential candidate. The President’s Office reported that this was a return visit to the Busan mayor two months after visiting the Busan Gukje Market in December last year.
The mayor’s visit was accompanied by Busan Mayor Park Hyeong-jun, Minister of SMEs and Startups Oh Hyeong-joo, Presidential Office Policy Director Seong Tae-yoon, Senior Secretary to the President for Economic Affairs Park Chun-seop, and Senior Secretary to the President for Social Affairs Jang Sang-yoon.
