For three days and two nights until the day following tomorrow (21st), President Yoon will hold a bilateral summit with heads of state from Japan, Australia, the UK, Vietnam, Indonesia and India, the G7 chair country, in Hiroshima.
The Korea-Japan summit will be held the day following tomorrow, two weeks following the Seoul summit.
During his visit to Japan, President Yoon, along with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, will visit the memorial stone for Korean atomic bomb victims at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.
President Yoon, along with US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Kishida, will discuss ways to respond to common challenges such as North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats, regional supply chain instability, and energy crisis.
In particular, we plan to discuss ways to practically implement real-time sharing of North Korean missile warnings included in the ‘Phnom Penh Statement’ of the Korea-US-Japan summit in November last year.
President Yoon is also expected to express his intention to expand the Korean government’s contribution to global agendas such as food, health, climate, and energy by participating in an enlarged meeting involving not only G7 member countries, but also invited countries and international organizations.
