President Yoon presides over the first cabinet meeting today

At the meeting, President Yoon said, “Inflation is the biggest problem,” and instructed him to come up with measures to get out of the difficult economic situation. Today (12th), President Yoon presides over the first cabinet meeting for the supplementary budget.

President Yoon Seok-yeol presides at the Cabinet meeting to compile the supplementary budget at 3 pm today.

The presidential office explained, “This is an emergency cabinet meeting that is held urgently when the prime minister and a number of ministers have not been appointed.”

A total of 11 members are required to hold a State Council meeting.

Currently, there are eight members of the State Council, including President Yoon and the seven ministers appointed yesterday, so at least three more State Council members are needed.

In preparation for the upcoming Korea-US summit next week, we plan to first appoint Park Jin, a foreign minister, and Lee Sang-min, a candidate for the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, who will manage local elections.

In addition, if the National Assembly adopts a hearing report on Lee Chang-yang, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy and Lee Young, Minister of SMEs and Startups this morning, the appointment will be made immediately.

At the first meeting of senior secretaries held yesterday, President Yoon said, “Inflation is the biggest problem,” and ordered that “the cause of inflation and measures to contain it should continue to be considered.”

President Yoon continued, “There is talk of resumption of nuclear tests, so please monitor closely,” and ordered preparations for the possibility of North Korea’s seventh nuclear test.
