President of the FAF Technical Council says yes to the first round of the Championship – Jornal OPaís

The president of the Technical Council of the Angolan Football Federation, José Neves, considered the outcome of the first round of the first division National Football Championship, Girabola 2023/2024, positive, as it went according to his department’s expectations.

Speaking to this newspaper, the director made a point of highlighting that his squad plans to complete the first half of the competition tomorrow.

José Neves called on the clubs to redouble their organizational efforts, explaining that his squad will not accept requests for game postponements, due to lack of time, with the exception of Petro de Luanda who are competing in the Afrotaças.

According to the director, the start date of the second round of the national football competition is scheduled for the 27th of this month.

José Neves added that the event ends between the 1st and 2nd of June this year, due to the involvement of the Palancas Negras in the qualifying rounds for the 2026 World Championship.

“We will only accept requests for game postponements if the situation in question is delicate, as we will not have enough time to readjust the games, as we want to finish the competition in June”, he assured.
