President of the Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire visits Brussels for Parliamentary Diplomacy

The President of the Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire, Adama Bictogo, who leads a delegation of Ivorian deputies, is making a friendship and working visit to Brussels, under the sign of parliamentary diplomacy.

This friendship and working visit will take place from January 25 to 27, 2024, in Brussels (Belgium). On this occasion, he will alternate between meetings with the leaders of the European Parliament and then exchanges with Belgian and French-speaking parliamentarians.

At the head of a high-ranking parliamentary delegation, Mr. Adama Bictogo will be welcomed by Ms. Eliane Tillieux, President of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Belgium, for an interview at the Palais de la Nation, Thursday January 25, 2024.

The agenda for this bilateral meeting will include major issues, notably the strengthening of cooperation between their two institutions. The head of the Ivorian hemicycle will also be received by Mr. Othmar Karas, 1st vice-president of the European Parliament, for an exchange of views.

This trip, which resembles a diplomatic and political marathon, will continue in the early followingnoon with Mr. Rudy Demotte, President of the Parliament of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. A meeting is planned between Mr. Bictogo and the Deputy Secretary General of the European Parliament, Mr. Markus Blinker.

Another highlight of this mission is participation in the meeting of the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie which will take place from January 26 to 27, 2024 in Brussels, at the invitation of the Belgium/French Community/Wallonia section. -Brussels and Mr. Rudy Demotte.

The official delegation led by President Adama Bictogo includes several deputies from different parliamentary groups in the National Assembly. This demonstrates participatory management of the affairs of the Ivorian Parliament.
