Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation of more than an hour with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, on Tuesday. in which they discussed the conditions for a possible ceasefire in Ukrainewhere Moscow introduced its troops at the end of February.
This has been reported by Paris officials to whom the German agency DPA has had access, although the Elysée Palace has limited itself to reporting that the conversation has been about “security conditions for substantial problems”.
For its part, the Kremlin has added that in the conversation there has been a “detailed exchange of views on the situation surrounding Ukraine”among which he has included “the ongoing negotiations” between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations.
President Macron, who on Tuesday also spoke by telephone with the President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, it has maintained a position of dialogue with kyiv and Moscow since the beginning of the conflict.
