President Moon Jae-in has a difficult decision to make before he leaves office: a special amnesty and a resolution to complete the inspection.
After much deliberation, the last pardon card was not used, and it is said that the oversight bill is likely to be promulgated at the cabinet meeting today (3rd).

With less than a week left in office, President Moon is expected to step down without using his last pardon card.
A high-ranking official at the Blue House said in a phone call that President Moon had repeatedly considered the possibility of a pardon, but recently decided not to grant the pardon.
Former President Lee Myung-bak, former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo, Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, and former professor Jeong Gyeong-shim, spouse of former Justice Minister Cho Kuk, have been discussed in and outside the political circles for a special pardon at the end of his term.
The business and religious circles have also conveyed their opinions to the Blue House on the need for amnesty under the pretext of national unity at the end of their tenure.
However, it seems that the amnesty was effectively canceled because the Ministry of Justice’s amnesty review committee did not hold a day before the last cabinet meeting presided over by President Moon.
On the other hand, it is known that the government is highly likely to vote on the promulgation of the ‘examination and closure’, which the Democratic Party is expected to enforce through the cabinet meeting.
As President Moon expressed his support for the arbitration plan agreed to by girls, it seems unlikely that he will exercise his veto power, contrary to the demands of the people.
“If we can come to an agreement while making small concessions to each other, that would be in line with our parliamentary democracy, and furthermore, the foundation of cooperation that should be continued in the future…”
The Blue House is said to be considering a plan to delay the time of the State Council meeting from 10 am to pm while watching the passage of the Inspection Waiver Bill at the National Assembly plenary session today (3rd).
