President Maduro requests greater speed from the National Assembly in the fight against violence

This Monday, President Nicolás Maduro asked the National Assembly to speed up the approval of laws and sanctions for those who commit acts of violence and hatred in the country.

«Fascism is criminality, it is hatred, fascism is unconstitutional, fascist currents are outside the Constitution and the Law. I ask the National Assembly to accelerate the approval of anti-fascist laws against hate crimes and establish severe penalties so that Venezuela is healed of fascism and never reappears“, he noted.

President calls for results in the fight against violence

He also questioned the incidents that occurred against government officials after the results of the presidential election were announced on July 28.

“Where is Mr. Urrutia, the biggest fascist Mrs. Machado, they deceive and launch people into violence and then abandon them. I demand that all powers act with greater speed and efficiency against crime, against hate crimes, I ask for an iron fist and severe and certain justice.adhering to constitutional principles. People want tranquility and peace,” he said.

“If the violence had continued, how many people would have been killed, thousands, And if they had managed to seize political power, how many dead? That is why I denounced the bloodbath, but we prevented them from doing so.“We are the guarantee of peace and constitutionality in Venezuela, there must be justice,” he added.

He said that the masterminds must be imprisoned, “impunity cannot be allowed.” Afterwards, a long and intense process of healing hatred will begin. He stressed that they sought out athletes to speak out, threatened influencers and contacted artists.
