Mexico City. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador thanked this Saturday the “solidarity of leaders, leaders and civil organizations from different countries and our own following the assault on the Mexican Embassy in Ecuador.”
In a message on platform X, the president also expressed his respect for the Ecuadorian people, with whose government Mexico broke diplomatic relations yesterday.
“We respect the brother people of that country and we ask our fellow citizens to behave with great caution to evade harassment and not fall into any provocation,” said López Obrador.
He added that the Mexican government is attentive to the situation of Mexican diplomatic personnel in Ecuador, who will be repatriated, and who he recognized for their work.
“We are attentive to the diplomats of our country, they are not alone. They have shown dignity and decorum, as was evident in the attitude of Raquel Serur, our ambassador, and Roberto Canseco, head of the embassy’s chancery. Alicia Bárcena, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, is handling this painful matter in a professional and effective manner.”
We appreciate the solidarity of leaders, leaders and civil organizations from different countries and our own following the assault on the Mexican Embassy in Ecuador.
We respect the brother people of that country and we ask our fellow citizens to behave with great caution…
