President Jokowi Opens 51st Cocotech International Coconut Exhibition in Surabaya – 2024-07-22 03:03:53

President Joko Widodo departed for Surabaya City, East Java, Monday (22/7) morning, for a working visit to inaugurate the 51st International Coconut Conference and Exhibition (Cocotech) in 2024.

The Head of State and his entourage took off from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta using the Presidential Aircraft Indonesia-1 at around 07.00 WIB.

Upon arrival at Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo Regency, Jokowi immediately headed to Surabaya City by car.

“In the city of Surabaya, President Jokowi is scheduled to open and inaugurate the 51st Cocotech in 2024,” said Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat M Yusuf Permana.

Yusuf said the Cocotech Conference and Exhibition is an international coconut conference and exhibition held every two years to promote the global coconut sector.

The activity aims to provide a means of exchanging ideas, best practices and policy recommendations, as well as collaborative efforts to promote food and energy security.

“The 51st Cocotech carries the theme of Utilizing the Potential of Coconut as a Tree of Life and Green Energy which highlights the importance of the coconut sector as a sustainable solution,” said Yusuf.

After the inauguration, Jokowi and his entourage headed to Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo Regency, to continue their journey to Papua. Jokowi will spend the night in Jayapura City, to continue his working visit activities at the peak of the 2024 National Children’s Day commemoration, Tuesday (23/7).

“Tomorrow, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana are planned to attend the peak of the 2024 National Children’s Day commemoration held at Istora Papua Bangkit,” he said.

Also accompanying President Jokowi on the flight to East Java were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Presidential Military Secretary Maj. Gen. TNI Rudy Saladin, Commander of Paspampres Maj. Gen. TNI Achiruddin, and Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat M Yusuf Permana. (Ant/Z-11)
