Belgrade – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed on Friday that the volume of bilateral trade between Türkiye and Serbia reached a record high for the second year in a row, exceeding two billion dollars.
This came in a speech during his participation with his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vucic, in the Turkish-Serbian Business Forum in Belgrade.
President Erdogan added that Turkish investments in Serbia are witnessing a continuous increase, and that there are approximately 850 investors with Turkish capital in Serbia.
He noted that the two countries have come a significant distance together in a short time, and bilateral trade volume has reached a record for the second year in a row, exceeding two billion dollars.
Erdogan pointed out that the two countries aim to raise the volume of trade exchange between them to $5 billion.
In turn, President Vucic said that his country’s relations with Turkey are much deeper than economic relations.
He added, “For us, relations with Türkiye mean peace and stability.”
The Serbian President pointed out that Türkiye has changed dramatically in the recent period.
He added, “Erdogan changed the face of Türkiye. “Istanbul and Ankara are not the same cities they were years ago.”
Vucic confirmed that his country will receive assistance from Turkish companies during hosting Expo 2027.
He explained: “We received a promise from Erdogan that Türkiye’s presence in the exhibition will be strong, and we are very happy.”
