Last Thursday, President Dina Boluarte sent a letter to Congress requesting authorization to make a trip to the United States.
According to the document, the head of state plans to participate in the inaugural summit of leaders of the Alliance of the Americas for Economic Prosperity (APEP), organized by the government of Joe Biden.
After hearing this news, the Chief Congress Officer reported that the Plenary Session will evaluate Boluarte’s request this Monday, starting at 4:00 p.m.

The only item on the agenda is to debate the legislative resolution, sent by the Executive Branch, which provides authorization for Boluarte to leave the country between November 1 and 4 heading to Maryland and Washington.
If approved, this will be the president’s fourth trip abroad since she took office in December of last year, and following the approval of the law that allows her to dispatch virtually in the case of trips abroad.
What is the agenda that the president will fulfill?
Boluarte has scheduled a bilateral meeting with Biden, within the framework of APEP, stated the Peruvian ambassador to the North American country, Gustavo Meza-Cuadra.

The summit has a busy agenda that includes meetings with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, as well as members of the North American Senate.
“He will also hold a meeting with the president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ilan Goldfajn, and meetings with senior North American businessmen with the aim of attracting foreign investments and showing Peru’s openness to international markets,” said the ambassador.
