President Boric will give a statement this Tuesday three years after the “social outbreak” | National

This Tuesday, President Gabriel Boric will issue a statement, three years following the so-called social outbreak. This Monday, the president assured that the opposition seeks to make believe that “nothing happened”, and that “there are substantive demands that are still in force.”

Early in the morning, President Gabriel Boric is expected to issue a statement, three years following the so-called social outbreak.

Almost three years have passed since the so-called social outbreak, which stirred up the waters in the political world. A few days following October 18, 2019, Gabriel Boric was in the Thinker hall, in Congress.

At that time he was a deputy, and he had a vision of what was happening in the streets. That day the reduction in the parliamentary diet had been approved, and the then parliamentarian was happy.

“Keep demonstrating peacefully,” said Gabriel Boric to a television channel that broadcast live what was happening at the seat of the Legislative power. “That is what in the end, to the people who are in this Congress, makes them back down from their corporate defenses,” he stated firmly.

Three years have passed since that October 18, and the then parliamentarian is today President of the Republic. That is why, in a certain way, he has had to moderate certain speeches, and provide -for example- greater support to the Carabineros.

This morning, President Boric will deliver a statement and will do so from the Palacio de La Moneda. Yesterday, at the start-up of the Quillota-Petorca Biprovincial Hospital, the President addressed the current context three years from now, noting that the opposition seeks to make believe that nothing happened, and that there are currently substantive demands that are still in force.

These days, and as a result of the attacks that Carabineros officials have experienced, it is that the President has had to harden his tone once morest delinquency, and further support the Carabineros.

This has been evidenced by his latest statements once morest irregular migration “either regularize or leave”; or the way they intend to persecute crime: “like dogs”.

Parallel to these demonstrations of support for the Carabineros and the notorious change in tone regarding crime, controversial posts on Twitter that current ministers made in their past once morest the police institution were revealed.

This situation led the ministers to meet with Carabineros General Director Ricardo Yáñez, which was appreciated by the RM zone chief Enrique Monras, who highlighted these signs.

For certain figures in the political world -mainly the opposition- it is essential that The Government apologizes to Carabineros for the tweets that have been known in recent days.

But it’s not just the opposition. On Monday, PPD senator Ricardo Lagos Webber harshly attacked Social Development Minister Giorgio Jackson for his defense of those who tweeted once morest Carabineros and called on the government to apologize to the institution.

This of course generated debate in the ruling party itself. “I think it is a lack of respect for the President,” said FRVS helmsman Flavia Torrealba, upon leaving the extended political committee.

Meanwhile, and in a general way, considering the opposition’s call to apologize, the senator and RD President Juan Ignacio Latorre, assuring that they are “hypocrites” and that “they are not much use.”

The spokeswoman Minister Camila Vallejo responded to these questions and called not to generate controversy, and to contribute to the progress of the Government.
