President Joe Biden has promoted Carinne Jean-Pierre, senior deputy spokesperson for the White House, as White House Press Secretary Jen Saki on the 5th (local time). As a result, for the first time in history, a black woman became the ‘mouth of an American president’. In her statement, President Biden said that “Karin will not only bring the experience, skills and integrity needed to do this difficult job, but will also lead the way in communicating regarding what the Biden government is doing for her Americans.”
Jean-Pierre’s spokesman said both parents are from Haiti. After he moved to the United States, his father worked as a taxi driver and his mother as a caregiver. After graduating from the New York Institute of Technology and receiving a master’s degree from Columbia University, Spokesperson Jean-Pierre worked as head of public relations for the progressive group MoveOn. He is also gay and is known to have adopted and raised a girl.
Jean-Pierre, a senior deputy spokeswoman who has been with the Bidens since the inauguration of the Biden government, worked as a political analyst on NBC and MSNBC before joining the camp.
