US President Joe Biden apparently has animal problems in the White House once more: Biden’s dog Commander is said to have bitten staff in the White House, among other things. According to US media reports, the pet has to undergo a new round of training following at least ten biting attacks. In one case, a victim even had to be hospitalized.

Since Biden’s entry into the White House in January 2021, Commander is the second dog in the President’s family to appear to have behavioral problems. In one of the incidents involving the German Shepherd puppy, First Lady Jill Biden was unable to regain control of the animal when it charged at a Secret Service employee, according to CNN. The broadcaster relies on internal emails from the authority entrusted with the security of the President. It was “only a matter of time” before an employee was “attacked or bitten,” it said.

The Bidens’ previous White House resident German shepherd, Major, also had some trouble adjusting to the presidential environment. In 2021, following at least one bite attack, he was briefly sent back to the Biden family’s home in Delaware, US, for training. He later stayed with family friends.
