The President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, telegraphed this afternoon to the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the death of the President of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. .
President Aoun considered that with the departure of Sheikh Khalifa, “The UAE is missing one of the most prominent pioneers of renaissance and modernity in it, who followed in the footsteps of his father, the founder of the state, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, inspired by his wisdom and future vision that guarantees the country’s prosperity, development and elevation to the ranks of developed countries. The Arab president carried its just causes and was a supporter and defender of it in international forums, while Lebanon lacks a sincere brother whom it loved and its people who exchanged it with love and loyalty.
President Aoun extended his condolences to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed on behalf of Lebanon, the president and the people, asking “for the great late have mercy and for the sisterly United Arab Emirates continued progress and prosperity.”
