.”I am very proud that Poland initiated and led the negotiations on the General Assembly resolution.”Building Global Resilience and Promoting Sustainable Development Through Regional and Inter-Regional Infrastructure Linkages“This joint, supra-regional initiative of Poland, Bulgaria, Croatia, El Salvador, Estonia, Hungary, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania was jointly promoted by over 80 countries representing all regions. Adopted by the General Assembly by consensus, it was the basis for our meeting today,” said President Andrzej Duda during the UN session: “Building Global Resilience and Promoting Sustainability Through Infrastructure Linkages„.
“The resolution sends a very clear signal to the entire UN system and the private sector that investing in reliable, sustainable, resilient and high-quality infrastructure is a universal priority worldwide. More importantly, it demonstrates our deep commitment to sustainable development and dialogue with the countries of the Global South.”
“As the United Nations system prepares for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, the Fourth Conference on Small Island Developing States and the Summit for the Future, it is crucial that we all do more to achieve this goal. I am confident that a network of infrastructure connections will make societies and economies more resilient and enable a just transition that leaves no one behind.”
