Asunción, IP Agency.- The President of the Republic, Mario Abdo Benítez, enabled on Monday night the work of the tunnel and crossing at the intersection of Tres Bocas.
The president was accompanied by Public Works authorities, workers who participated in the construction and the ambassador of Taiwan, José Han, the country that financed the project.
Abdo highlighted the cooperation of the Asian country for the development of Paraguay, which doubled from US$73 to US$150 million during his government administration and announced that more infrastructure projects will come as a result of this cooperation.
The Tres Bocas tunnel and the collector roads have been fully operational since March 29.
The work included the construction of an overpass, the widening of the lanes on Acceso Sur avenue and a roundregarding at the intersection with Américo Picco and Luis María Argaña avenues. Alternate street improvements were also made.
In total, the new infrastructure is 1,000 meters long, houses a 600-meter tunnel, of which 135 meters are covered. At its peak, it employed some 700 people, including subcontractors and permanent employees of the construction company Tecnoedil SA
