President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s Participation in African Union Summit in Kenya: Enhancing Bilateral Cooperation and Advancing African Development

“Extra News” channel reported in breaking news that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi arrived in Kenya to participate in the fifth session of the African Union’s mid-year coordinating summit.

Earlier, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the African Coordination Summit was established in 2019 under the Egyptian presidency of the African Union, in connection with the efforts of institutional reform of the Union, and within the framework of the division of labor and tasks between the African Union Commission and regional economic groupings, as well as Enhancing the path of regional integration among the countries of the continent, especially with regard to economic integration, the most prominent of which is the launch of the African Continental Free Trade Area under the Egyptian presidency in 2019.

The Spokesman stated that the President is scheduled to deliver a speech during which he will review Egypt’s plan in light of its current chairmanship of the Steering Committee of Heads of State and Government of the African Development Agency (NEPAD). Confronting the effects of climate change on the countries of the African continent.

It is also expected that the president will hold talks with his brother, Kenyan President William Ruto, with the aim of discussing mechanisms for enhancing aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries, and how to deal with the concerns of the African continent, as well as discussing developments in regional issues and files of common concern, and ways of cooperation to develop frameworks. Joint African action with the aim of advancing the development process and promoting integration in the continent.
