Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, and all employees of the Ministry of Health and Population, thanked President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his directives to improve the wages of members of the medical profession, announcing the details of his directives to improve their wages.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the increases included doubling the equivalent of night shifts, following official work hours, and overnight stays for human doctors, nursing technicians, and health technicians working in hospitals and health care units, in accordance with the latest amendment to Law No. 18 of 2023.
Abdel Ghaffar stated that the increase for staying up late amounts to 130 pounds, while the increase for staying overnight amounts to 195 pounds per day, and is determined according to the categories of consultant, specialist, assistant specialist, resident physician, assigned physician, nursing specialist, nursing technician, and health technician.
He added that the planned increases include increases in risk allowance for medical professions, which range from 250 to 300 pounds per month, for human medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, pharmacists, higher nursing, sciences, technical jobs (nursing, public health) and health technicians.
He explained that improving wages includes increasing the categories of rewards for extraordinary efforts, job burdens, supervision allowance, and leadership positions, which start from 665 pounds and reach 9 thousand pounds, and include undersecretaries and directors of directorates, directors of medical districts, hospital directors, deputy hospital directors, and first-class positions. In accordance with Article 16 of Law No. 14 of 2014.
In the same context, the Ministry of Finance confirmed that the aforementioned increases come in addition to the increase in special and periodic bonuses, and additional incentives, in addition to approving the remote areas incentive for the rest of those addressed by the Medical Professions Law, in addition to financing those assigned to the members of the medical professions.
