Today, Tuesday, at the Federal Palace, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received the candidates who ran in the 2024 presidential elections.
The list of candidates received by the president included: Hazem Omar, head of the Republican People’s Party, Farid Zahran, head of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, and Abdel-Sanad Yamama, head of the Wafd Party, in the presence of Counselor Mahmoud Fawzi, head of the president’s electoral campaign.
Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the meeting witnessed the President welcoming the candidates, stressing his appreciation for their political performance during the electoral process, in a way that enriches pluralism and diversity in the Egyptian political and democratic scene, indicating that the real success for all of Egypt is represented by the high levels of participation. And the unprecedented participation of citizens in the elections, which reflects the great Egyptian people’s awareness of their national responsibility.
For their part, the presidential candidates were keen to congratulate the President, praising the success of the electoral process and the huge turnout of citizens to participate in the elections in a manner consistent with the supreme national interest, expressing their sincere wishes to the President for success and progress in achieving the interests of the nation, which is the ultimate goal of all national political factions. Especially at this precise time when the region is going through serious challenges.
The official spokesman added that the meeting witnessed the heads of the parties presenting their political visions on how to enhance national development efforts during the next stage, stressing their continued work in the interest of Egypt and the citizens.
