The civil society coalition is urging the Constitutional Court (MK) to present President Jokowi, 8 ministers and heads of state institutions for questioning. This is related to the evidence in the trial of the dispute over the results of the general election (PHPU) for the Presidential Election.

Constitutional Law Observer Titi Anggraini believes that this request is still relevant as an effort to shed light on the dispute over the results of the 2024 presidential election. Moreover, a number of issues that emerged in the trial were closely related to the roles of the parties.

“Moreover, it is very easy for the relevant parties, for example, to present the leadership of Commission VIII, the Acting Mayor and Officials at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The same thing should be strengthened or balanced through a Court summons to these parties,” he said to Media Indonesia, Friday (5/4).

According to him, there are a number of things that need to be clarified with a number of institutional leaders. For example, regarding the politicization of village heads and village officials and the neutrality of security forces.

So, presenting the President, ministers and heads of state institutions is a normal thing for a rule of law country. For this reason, the Constitutional Court needs to summon the relevant parties to provide the necessary information.

“In a legal state with the principle of the rule of law where legal norms and procedures apply equally to every citizen, then anyone, including state and government officials, if their statement is required at the Constitutional Court, must comply and be present to fulfill the summons,” said Titi.
