It is noteworthy that the court, headed by Counselor Yasser Sinjab, President of the Court, Counsellor Dr. Mustafa Balassi, and the membership of Counselor Ahmed Samir Selim, the Secretariat of Muhammad Farouk and Ahmed Gharib, postponed the trial of the accused of killing the student Salma, the girl of Zagazig, until today, to request the defendant’s defense to include his medical file and pleadings.

Psychological consultant

Today, the Zagazig Criminal Court summoned a psychological consultant and medical director at Al-Azayem Hospital to hear his statements regarding the medical diagnosis of the case of Islam Fathi, the killer of Salma Bahgat, a Zagazig girl.

The psychological consultant said, while hearing his statements at the court session, that Islam, the killer of Salma, the Zagazig girl, entered the “Jamal Abu Al-Azaim” mental health hospital on July 25, 2019 and stayed there for regarding 10 days, when he was discharged specifically on August 3, 2019 at the request of his father.

The psychological consultant added that Salma’s killer entered the hospital suffering from acute psychosis, which is one of the mental disorders that affect the patient, pointing out that the psychotic patient – in a severe case – might harm himself or others.

And the medical director of Al-Azaim Hospital revealed that he might not find out the details of Salma’s killer’s case because he was not the doctor treating him, noting that his treating doctor died in March 2022.

The medical director of Al-Azaim Hospital confirmed that he might not be certain that the condition of the disease was still going on with Islam for all these years, and he might not be certain if the killer of the Zagazig girl was in full mental powers during the execution of the crime.
