Ham sold at Auchan throughout France is currently the subject of a recall due to the presence of Listeria. If you have it in your possession, you are asked not to consume it.
Be careful if you have recently purchased Auchan brand ham. The superior ham without rind, sold by 4 slices between December 5 and 13 in all Auchan stores throughout France, is the subject of a recall.
The affected ham has a use-by date of December 31, 2022 and is being recalled due to the presence of Listeria, the bacteria responsible for listeriosis.
Risk for pregnant women
As indicated the ministry of health“following an incubation ranging from a few days to several weeks (on average 10 to 28 days depending on the clinical forms), the disease usually results in a more or less high fever, accompanied by headaches and, sometimes, digestive disorders (nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, etc.)”.
The authorities warn that sometimes “people are infected without showing any symptoms (asymptomatic carriers). In the particular case of contamination of pregnant women, the infection can go unnoticed or be reduced to symptoms similar to those of flu. However, the risks and consequences can be serious for the unborn child”.
If you have this ham reference in your possession, you are therefore asked not to consume the product and to bring it back to the point of sale, a refund will be offered to you. The recall procedure ends on December 28.
