The director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, took to social media yesterday Wednesday to issue a warning.
Days following stating that the world is not prepared for the next pandemic, the official warned that the time to start this preparation “is now”.
“The time to prepare for the next pandemic is now, not when it arrives,” wrote Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
It should be noted that the alert comes following, in recent days, ‘Disease X’, which might be the future pandemic, entered the center of the discussion.
The WHO has even warned that this “might cause 20 times more deaths than the coronavirus pandemic”.
