Italians and tourists have to prepare for strikes on the railways and in air traffic in Italy this week. The staff of the state railway company Trenitalia* as well as employees of the private competitor Italo* plan to stop work from July 13, 3 a.m. to July 14, 2 a.m. Several unions announced this.

Italy’s air traffic: pilots and ground staff are on strike

A strike at the airports has been announced for Saturday, July 15, when the ground staff – for example at check-in – want to stop work from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Also on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. the pilots of Malta Air, who operate Ryanair flights in Italy, want to go on strike. And at the low-cost airline Vueling, pilots and flight attendants are also called on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to go on strike.
