“This programming is because historically it has been done during work or study hours, so the population is already informed regarding how to act in those contexts. However, the main goal is to prepare people for emergency situations in their homes, as it is a lesser-known scenario. It was decided not to do it during the weekend because it is considered that most people will be at home at night, a time when the greatest impact is expected in the event of an emergency, and thus they will be able to practice with their families. ” explained the official.

The senior official called on people to take these types of exercises seriously, to know how to act in an emergency.

No technical entity can predict when there will be an emergency situation, but we can be prepared, generate community alerts, safe actions in residential complexes and having our emergency kit at home can save us in any situation and not only the earthquake, but also a fire can occur in the early morning,” Escobar explained.
