The AndaSeat Kaiser 3 XL Elegant Black gaming chair has arrived at Cybersport.ru. We gave it a little test drive and spent several work shifts, as well as Dota 2 matches, lying in it (and even lying down for a bit). By the way, the chair will not stay with us and will soon be with one of our readers – how to participate in its draw, find out here. Well, let’s talk regarding the features of the chair itself and its differences from more budget models in the material Cybersport.ru.
Assembly
If you study reviews of gaming chairs (especially for budget options) on various marketplaces, the assembly process often becomes the main reason for user dissatisfaction. It turns out to be extremely laborious, and sometimes completely impossible. This happens for a number of reasons: someone does not get the necessary bolts, someone prevents the fabric from twisting the parts, and someone just has to show remarkable strength and ingenuity in order to combine the components. All this, of course, spoils the impression of the chair even before you sit in it for the first time (or not sit at all if the assembly is completely deadlocked).
Things are different with the AndaSeat Kaiser 3. Here it is worth paying tribute to the manufacturer. Firstly, all parts and components are neatly packed in separate bags or boxes, so you don’t have to worry regarding their safety during delivery. Secondly, despite the abundance of these very boxes and bags, the assembly process is quite simple and will not take you more than 20 minutes. A 15-step visual instruction in Russian will not allow you to get confused. The only thing worth noting is point number 13, in which we are offered to raise the reclining chair, holding it with one hand by the cross. Considering that the chair itself weighs 28.6 kg, this can be quite difficult for some.
Otherwise, during the assembly process, all parts were inserted and screwed in without any additional effort or pressure, and the bolt connectors were neat and accurate. In addition, some of the parts are attached using magnets, and therefore you will have to use the hex wrench that comes with the kit only a couple of times. So there are no complaints regarding the assembly of AndaSeat Kaiser 3, and the chair gets a plus for this aspect.
By the way, during the assembly process, you can “get acquainted” with the chair and feel the materials from which it is made. The AndaSeat Kaiser 3 has a Class 4 gas lift, a strong aluminum cross and a 100% titanium steel back frame. Therefore, you should not worry regarding the safety and reliability of the chair: it will not work to fly with it to the floor or break it (at least with adequate operation). The chair itself can withstand weight up to 180 kg.
The wheels of the AndaSeat Kaiser 3 are 65 mm in diameter with a polyurethane coating. If you translate into understandable, then it was easy to ride around the office in a chair: it does not stop, and the movements themselves are smooth and quiet. As for the upholstery, it is made of faux PVC leather and linen fabric. Of course, we did not find any protruding threads, uneven seams or other defects – the product is not of that level. It is difficult for us to answer how long such a coating is and whether it is difficult to wash it following just a couple of days of operation. However, purely visually it looks stylish, and most importantly, it is very comfortable to touch with such upholstery. It is not hot to sit in the chair, and clothes do not stick to it.
Comfort and swing
The main indicator of AndaSeat Kaiser 3 convenience and comfort is that in it you forget regarding the existence of the chair itself and focus solely on your business or game. There is no need to constantly change position or fidget due to stiff limbs. It is enough to initially choose a comfortable position and configuration and … just sit down. And then AndaSeat Kaiser 3 will do everything by itself. This is probably the distinguishing feature of this model: it not only does not cause discomfort, it really gives comfort. And this concerns not only the absence of tension in the back following a long stay in the chair or a bunch of customizable parameters, but also various little things.
The wiggles in the AndaSeat Kaiser 3 are generally worth noting separately. They are not only silent (and neither your colleagues in the office nor your family sitting in the same room with you will recognize the fact that you are rocking in your chair), but they are also very smooth. In Kaiser 3, there is no reflex desire to stick to the table, swaying in a chair, and therefore such movements soon literally become an element of meditation. How much your performance in the context of games (or work, of course) will grow from this is a debatable question, but the fact that any activity in Kaiser 3 becomes much more pleasant cannot be disputed.
Special features
On the manufacturer’s website, you can get acquainted with a number of additional features of AndaSeat Kaiser 3. We tested how effective and useful they really are. One of the key features here is the built-in adaptive lumbar support system, which allows you to change the height and curve of the backrest in four directions at once. The system is regulated with the help of two handles located on the right and left on the back. Accordingly, one of them is responsible for the height of the mechanism, and the second for its bulge. On paper, the feature looks interesting, but in reality, it is quite difficult to immediately notice the effect of it – it is rather cumulative here.
We, in turn, most of all liked the ability to recline the back of the chair up to 165 degrees – in fact, almost to a horizontal position. Of course, the range of application of the function is somewhat limited: such a position is only suitable for relaxed watching TV shows. And besides, despite the reliability of the AndaSeat Kaiser 3, it was quite scary to stretch out at such an angle in a chair for the first time. However, even if you do not resort to extreme angles of inclination, the very ability to choose the location of the backrest in such a wide range allows you to adjust the chair to any type of activity at the PC.
But the 4D armrests with MagSwap technology raised questions. The chair has the ability to change the position of the armrests in several planes. However, in our case, the standard position of the armrests, in fact, turned out to be optimal: it is quite difficult to come up with situations in which the armrests need to be raised high and twisted outward. The manufacturer’s website says that such a variability in the positions of the armrests is made so that the user can install a magnetic tabletop that can turn the chair into a full-fledged workplace.
In addition, due to the ability to change position in many different ways, the armrests themselves are not tightly fixed and dangle slightly. This may well throw off the sight for fans of competitive games a little.
Separately, I would like to note such a seemingly insignificant detail as a neck pillow. AndaSeat Kaiser 3 has a magnetic one – there are no extra fasteners or Velcro. This allows you to freely change its location, substituting under the head or neck, depending on the need. At the same time, it will not move or slide by itself: the magnets really fix it tightly. And even with the very reclined position of the backrest, the pillow becomes the best friend for the gamer!
AndaSeat Kaiser 3 – a chair primarily for those who clearly understand what level of comfort they need when working on a PC or during a long gaming session, and are ready to pay for it. This is not a chance to brag regarding an expensive thing, but a conscious choice in favor of maximum convenience and peace of mind while sitting at the computer. And for those who are looking for the latter, AndaSeat Kaiser 3 is perfect.
