The Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas stated: “With the “Students Basket” that we have been activating since August 30 and the ceiling on the profit margin at the levels of 2021 that we have already instituted, we are putting into practice our commitment that every family can obtain the necessary school supplies at affordable prices. I met with the heads of both supermarket and school, stationery and toy businesses and asked for just that: to keep prices at least at last year’s levels and exhaust every opportunity to lower them.

At the same time, we are making improvements to the “Household Basket”, on the one hand by including more branded products and on the other hand by establishing a separate display point within the stores where its basic products will be shown together. In this way, we increase the choices of consumers and make it easier for them to find the products of the “Basket” quickly and easily. In this difficult time, we stand by our fellow citizens, giving every family the opportunity for economic and quality choices in the markets of basic consumer products”.
