Premier Tech world headquarters: 28 countries gathered to celebrate 100 years

Premier Tech celebrated its first century of existence in a big way! More than 4,000 people and 28 countries met at the Rivière-du-Loup head office.

“900 children from 0 to 17-18 years old, maybe even a little more. More than 1,000 people who came from outside, therefore international managers and leaders,” begins the senior vice-president of event development at Premier Tech.

It took a year of planning in advance to accommodate all these people. Transportation and security were the challenge. It was necessary to temporarily close access to part of rue Témiscouata.

“The truck area was closed. So people gathered there and there were 15 to 20 buses continuously that came to pick them up and bring them to campus for security reasons. We made an emergency plan, if something serious ever happens,” explains Yvan Pelletier.

The accommodation establishments were all booked since 2022, from Kamouraska to Trois-Pistoles.

“All the hotels in the region and I’m talking about the immediate region of Rivière du Loup and the town itself have been reserved for our teammates coming from outside,” adds Yvan Pelletier.

The multinational was keen to encourage local businesses. This is the case of the owner of Oreka, who had to produce and serve more than 200 waffles in 5 hours.

“I thrive on challenges, so I was definitely going to say yes. It took several weeks, a good six weeks of preparation. We were a team of 11 years old, we made roughly one waffle every 24 seconds,” explains Annie Bélanger, the owner of Oréka and creator of healthy desserts.

Mission accomplished for the entrepreneur who clearly put his hand in the work.

“It’s not very pretty, but it was worth it,” says Annie Bélanger.

250 event employees were needed to install the professional stage and arrange the site with several areas for both children and adults. Activities took place all day. In the evening, the highlight was a drone air show, the first of this magnitude in Canada.

“More than 400 drones were welcomed into the sky to come and animate in different colors to the sound of the music that was also present,” concludes Yvan Pelletier.

The multinational crossed the billion mark in turnover in 2022. Proud of their 100 years of experience, the company wishes to continue to evolve for future generations.
