London: The English Premier League maintained its integrity as the summer transfer window closed. No other league has been able to reach the seventh level of the Premier League in terms of money spent on players. All 20 clubs in the league paid Rs 22,490 crore as transfer fee. This is the second highest amount in history. Second placed French League One spent Rs 7205 crore.
What was shocking was the Saudi ProLeague’s cash flow. The league is in fourth place. Meanwhile, the league had risen to second place. However, League One and Italian Serie A overtook the Saudi League in the final stages. The German Bundesliga and the Spanish LaLiga are behind the Saudi League.
Chelsea is leading the clubs. Chelsea spent 3713 crores. 2342 crore transactions were done in the Premier League on the last day alone.
Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo has the highest transfer fee. Chelsea brought the midfielder from Brighton for a fee of Rs 1197 crore.
