Among the research chosen is that of Vincent Prévot, director of research at Inserm and his team, who looked at the risk of premature brain aging in patients. “The virus has been found to create micro-haemorrhages in the brain which might explain some of the symptoms developed by patients with long Covid”, reports the researcher. “If it can be reversed, a fragility of the central nervous system might increase the risk of developing a neurodegenerative disease many years later.”
