Predators: Josi shouldn’t face Rangers

Roman Josie is not expected to be in uniform with the Nashville Predators once morest the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Sunday following suffering an undisclosed injury in the first period of a 3-2 overtime loss once morest the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.

Josi did not return following making 11 appearances for a total playing time of 10:06. The Predators said they would provide an update on his condition before the game once morest the Rangers.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Sunday morning that Josi did not accompany the Predators to New York.

Josi leads the Predators in scoring with 59 points (18 goals, 41 assists) in 67 games this season.

The Predators are expected to recall a defenseman from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League before the game. It might be Jordan Grosswho leads Milwaukee in scoring among defensemen with 31 points in 45 games.

The Predators are also without defenders Ryan McDonagh et Alexandre Carrier. Both are assessed daily due to upper body injuries. It’s possible, but rather unlikely, that either of them will return once morest the Rangers.
