Porsche completes the Cayenne range, completely revised in 2023, with the arrival of the new GTS versions, with a resolutely dynamic character. The SUV and Coupé versions of the Cayenne GTS are equipped with a powerful 500 hp (368 kW) twin-turbo V8 engine combined with performance-oriented chassis tuning systems, with everyday versatility. GTS models benefit from distinctive design elements and extended standard equipment.

At Porsche, GTS stands for Gran Turismo Sport. Concretely, this name means increased dynamism and comfort on long journeys. The Cayenne is a model that perfectly combines the qualities of a high-performance sports car and the qualities of an SUV suitable for off-road driving. On GTS models, emphasis has traditionally been placed on optimizing performance on the road. With its powerful engine, its sporty settings and its exclusive design, the new Cayenne GTS stays true to this principle while offering everyday comfort.

Chassis technology from the Cayenne Turbo GT

The chassis specific to the GTS versions, which benefits from extremely precise alignment and a lowering of 10 mm, marks a major development. The GTS model is now equipped as standard with adaptive air suspension, with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus). All chassis elements and control systems, such as Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and the optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), have been developed to optimize performance on the road.

Active suspension control with two-valve technology provides remarkable response. The two-chamber air suspension gives the car sporty damping and exceptional driving comfort. The pivot bearings on the front axle of Cayenne GTS models, derived from the Cayenne Turbo GT (model not offered in Europe), increase negative camber by 0.58° compared to other Cayenne models. The result is remarkable cornering agility and exceptional driving dynamics.

Increased efficiency and power increased by 40 hp (30 kW) compared to the previous model

In addition to the optimized setting of the chassis, the V8 block helps shape the resolutely sporty character of the Cayenne GTS. Completely technically revised, the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, developed by Porsche and produced in Zuffenhausen, benefits from increased efficiency and significantly increased power. Thus, the engine now develops an output of 500 hp (368 kW), which amounts to a gain of 40 hp (30 kW) compared to the previous model. Maximum torque is now 660 Nm (+40 Nm). The optimized 8-speed Tiptronic S gearbox improves driving performance with faster response and shift times in Sport and Sport Plus modes.

These features give the four-door sports car remarkable performance. The new Cayenne GTS goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. Top speed is 275 km/h. Another technical innovation: the transfer case of the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system has an independent water cooling circuit. This technology, also from the Cayenne Turbo GT, makes it possible to stabilize the permitted load capacity, especially on tracks or on mountain roads.

Exclusive design and specific equipment for GTS models

Each Porsche GTS model is distinguished by its eminently sporty style. On the Cayenne GTS, this stylistic signature is manifested by the presence of a “GTS” monogram in black on the sides and rear of the car, by a distinctive front bumper with enlarged air intakes, by light tinted front and rear, and red brake calipers. These design elements typical of GTS models give the car its distinctive style. However, some new features should be mentioned: the body elements, in particular the side skirts, the front decorative inserts, the contours of the side windows and the fender flares in the wheel arches, which are part of the Sport Design package offered as standard, are now available in a gloss black finish. On earlier GTS models, some of these items were available, partly in exterior body color. On the other hand, the outlets for the sports exhaust system, which were previously in black, are now in dark bronze. To further enhance the design of the GTS versions, the 21-inch RS Spyder wheels have an anthracite gray color.

The Cayenne GTS comes standard with a heated GT sports steering wheel. The passenger compartment is decorated with Race-Tex decor. The headliner, armrests and door panels, as well as the central bands of the 8-way sports seats are covered in this high-quality suede. The side reinforcements have been raised to improve lateral support when cornering. Two GTS-specific interior packages, in Carmine Red or Neo Slate Gray (offered later), are also available to further personalize the cabin.

New Porsche Driver Experience with ambient lighting and surround sound

The new GTS models benefit from the Cayenne’s recent comprehensive update, which includes the new Porsche Driver Experience onboard control and display concept, with standard curved digital instrument cluster and optional passenger display. As standard, the new Cayenne GTS is equipped with the Sport Design Pack, tinted HD matrix LED headlights, air suspension, but also a Bose® surround sound system and ambient lighting. The Cayenne GTS Coupé also comes as standard with a fixed panoramic glass roof and an adaptively deployable rear spoiler. On request, the Coupé can become even sportier with the sports exhaust system with dark bronze-coloured central outlets, available with the three light sports packages, which also include a weight-optimized roof and a carbon rear diffuser, as well as only reduced insulation cushions. Depending on the equipment package, the lightweight design packages can reduce vehicle weight by a total of 25 kg.

The new Cayenne GTS is offered in France at a price of 141,400 euros in its SUV version, and at a price of 144,428 euros in its SUV Coupé version. These prices include VAT and include all country-specific equipment. Both models are already available for order. The first deliveries to Europe are planned for summer 2024.
