Alexander Olegovich does not see his mother often

In 2008, the former actress Lyubov Strizhenova, the mother of actor Alexander Strizhenov, was tonsured and went to the monastery.

The decision was not spontaneous – she walked to God for a long time and consciously. Even while serving at the Moscow Art Theater, in 1984, Lyubov Vasilievna visited the Pskov-Caves Monastery for Easter and met Archimandrite Jerome, who became her spiritual beacon. When he was transferred to the Chuvash town of Alatyr, the actress often visited him there. And for the last 15 years, Strizhenova, who became mother Judith, has been living in the Kiev-Nikolaev Novodevichy Convent.

At one time, the mother’s decision was unconditionally supported only by her daughter Elena Zemlyanikina from an early marriage with the star of the film “The House I Live In” Vladimir Zemlyanikin.

“I look back at my past and understand: nothing foreshadowed that our family would embark on the path of churching,” she said. – My mother’s father, my beloved grandfather Vasily, was an officer and an ideological communist, and when he first saw the icon in her room, he was shocked: “Daughter, how can you ?!”

Now Elena is also churched. Once, faith saved her eldest daughter Lyubov from death with director Alexander Zharkov.

– I had a chronic disease that, in principle, is not treated – glomerulonephritis (kidney disease), – says Strizhenova’s granddaughter. – Children with such illness sit on heavy hormones. Mom realized that she would either pray or lose me. She chose a prayer: she took an akathist to the Great Martyr Panteleimon, did not understand anything at all, but knew that she had to read. By the grace of God, a miracle happened – the disease receded. And the doctors might not believe the obvious for a long time and said: “It’s impossible!”

Mother Judith is sure that her granddaughter Nastya (the eldest daughter of her son Sasha) is on the right track

Lyubov grew up and became the wife of the priest Alexander Pirogov, raising seven children with him. Like her grandmother, she lives in Alatyr and serves in the church of the Holy Apostle Jacob Alfeev.
