Praise for Prophet Ghulam and Mixed Views on Prime Minister Modi’s Generosity and Vindictiveness

Former Congress MP and senior political leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his generous behavior despite creating obstacles on many controversial issues. Azad acknowledged that Modi tried to create obstacles in Article 370, Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and hijab controversy, but his approach was very generous. Azad gave credit to Modi for his statesman-like behavior and not approaching any of the controversial issues with a vindictive attitude. Azad was described as a Modi devotee following the Prime Minister delivered an emotional farewell speech in Parliament on his behalf. Azad explained that he used to see Modi as a tough man, but following his farewell speech, he gave a humane speech recalling a terrorist incident. Despite criticism from some Congress leaders following leaving the Congress, Azad sees Modi as a true friend.

But the approach of the Chief Minister was very generous.’- Ghulam Nabi said while talking to news agency ANI at the launch of his autobiography titled ‘Azaad’.

“I have to give credit to Narendra Modi. He was generous in everything I did to him. I have not spared him on any of the issues of Article 370, CAA and Hijab. I made sure that some bills were completely defeated. Yet Modi’s behavior was that of a statesman. He did not approach any of it with a vindictive attitude.’- Ghulam Nabi, who is also the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, explained.

Ghulam Nabi was described as a Modi devotee by his former Congress colleagues following the Prime Minister delivered an emotional farewell speech in Parliament on behalf of Azad.

Ghulam Nabi, founding leader and head of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party, said he used to see Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a tough man, but in his farewell speech, he gave a humane speech recalling a terrorist incident.

After Ghulam Nabi left the Congress, several Congress leaders criticized Prime Minister Modi citing his speech in Parliament. The Prime Minister’s speech described Prophet Ghulam as a true friend.
