Prague Airport is planning to open more direct flights to North America and Asia, including Chicago (USA), Vietnam and India.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Prague Airport served regarding 65% of international arrivals to and from the Czech Republic. Prague Airport is looking to open more direct flights to North America and Asia.

The Czech side hopes that these routes can be operated as soon as 2023. However, this depends on a number of other factors, including the situation of the COVID-19 epidemic in China.

Mr. Pos also announced that Prague Airport is still negotiating with Eznis Airlines to open a direct flight from Prague to Mongolia, because the Czech Republic has the largest Mongolian community in Europe. In the context that the job market in the Czech Republic is opening up, this will be a good opportunity to start implementing exchange activities between Prague and Ulaanbaatar.

Finally, according to Mr. Pos, Prague Airport is also in talks to open direct flights to Tokyo (Japan) or Singapore. These are all promising projects for the years 2024 and 2025, while in 2023, the Airport will open a number of new direct flights, including a route from Prague to Seoul (Korea).
