Kathmandu: Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Nepal.
The 68-year-old is becoming the Prime Minister of Nepal for the third time. Previously held the position in 2008 and 2016. Last day, he had written to President Bidya Devi Bhandari, claiming the support of 169 people in the 275-member Parliament.
In the elections held in Nepal on November 20, the hung assembly came into existence. It is understood that Prachanda will be the Prime Minister for the first two and a half years. After 13 years in hiding, Prachanda entered mainstream politics after the CPN-Maoist party ended the armed conflict.
