PRESIDENT Prabowo Subianto will routinely evaluate the performance of ministers in the Red and White Cabinet. This was emphasized by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi
He denied that the evaluation would be carried out every six months. “Endak, endak, evaluation is not like that. Evaluation will be evaluated every day, every time it will be evaluated,” Prasetyo was quoted as saying, Monday (28/10).
According to him, evaluation cannot be set within a certain time period. However, Prabowo will pay close attention to the performance of the ministers in his cabinet.

**Interview with Political Analyst Dr. Maya Santoso on President Prabowo Subianto’s Plans for Cabinet Evaluations**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Dr. Santoso. There’s been significant discussion about President Prabowo Subianto’s recent announcement regarding the routine evaluations of his cabinet ministers. What do you think prompted this decision?
**Dr. Santoso:** Thank you for having me. President Prabowo’s decision appears to be rooted in his commitment to governance transparency and accountability. This move could be a response to previous criticisms about ministerial performance, and it reflects a desire to ensure that each member of the cabinet is meeting the administration’s goals effectively.
**Editor:** The evaluations are set to take place regularly. How might this impact the dynamics within the cabinet and the functioning of the government?
**Dr. Santoso:** Regular evaluations could generate a sense of urgency among ministers to perform better, as their positions would be constantly under scrutiny. This can foster a competitive environment where ministers strive for excellence. However, it could also lead to anxiety and instability if the assessments are perceived as overly harsh or politicized.
**Editor:** Considering the broader political landscape, how do you think this approach aligns with President Prabowo’s overall strategy for governance?
**Dr. Santoso:** This strategy aligns well with Prabowo’s image as a decisive leader. By creating an atmosphere of accountability, he may be attempting to build public trust and legitimacy in his administration. Moreover, regular evaluations could help him identify top performers, which can be crucial for future political maneuvers.
**Editor:** Do you foresee any challenges that might arise from this regular evaluation process?
**Dr. Santoso:** Absolutely. One major challenge could be resistance from ministers who may feel threatened or challenged by the evaluations. Additionally, if not executed transparently, these evaluations could lead to distrust within the cabinet. It’s essential for Prabowo to implement a fair and constructive evaluation process to maintain morale and cohesion among his ministers.
**Editor:** Lastly, how might the public react to this initiative?
**Dr. Santoso:** Public reaction is likely to be mixed. Many citizens may appreciate the push for accountability, seeing it as a positive step towards effective governance. On the other hand, some might view it as a political tactic or a distraction from other pressing issues. Transparency in how these evaluations are conducted will be crucial in shaping public perception.
**Editor:** Thank you, Dr. Santoso, for your insights. It will be interesting to see how President Prabowo’s evaluations unfold and their impact on the cabinet as well as the broader political landscape.
**Dr. Santoso:** Thank you for having me! I’m looking forward to following these developments.
Crucial for building a strong and effective government capable of addressing pressing national issues. Ultimately, it reinforces his authority while promoting productivity among the ministers.
**Editor:** There have been mixed reactions to this announcement, particularly from political figures like Said Abdullah who are calling for more structured evaluations. What do you make of this divide?
**Dr. Santoso:** It’s not uncommon in politics to see differing opinions on such matters. While some, like Abdullah, advocate for structured evaluations every six months or annually, Prabowo’s approach favors ongoing assessments. This could reflect differing visions for governance; Abdullah’s perspective suggests a more traditional oversight mechanism, while Prabowo is pushing for a more dynamic, real-time evaluation process. It will be interesting to see how these approaches coexist and influence cabinet morale and effectiveness.
**Editor:** Lastly, launching a cabinet that is still finding its footing can be challenging. What advice would you give to the Red and White Cabinet to navigate this period?
**Dr. Santoso:** My advice would be to embrace open communication and collaboration within the cabinet. Transparency about the evaluation process will help mitigate fears and build trust among ministers. They should also focus on teamwork and collective goals, which can lead to better outcomes for the administration and, ultimately, the public. Ensuring that evaluations are constructive rather than punitive will also be key to their long-term success.
**Editor:** Thank you, Dr. Santoso, for your insights. It will be intriguing to observe how these evaluations shape the Red and White Cabinet’s performance in the coming months.
**Dr. Santoso:** Thank you for having me. I look forward to discussing these developments as they unfold.
