PRESIDENT-elect Prabowo Subianto provided ministerial candidates by bringing in political and conglomerate experts from the US, economic experts from South Korea and two foreign media experts.

Responding to this, senior researcher at the Political Research Center of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Lili Romli, said this was proof that Indonesia had not closed itself off to the nation’s progress.

“Yes, there is no problem bringing in experts from abroad if the expertise needed is not available in Indonesia,” said Lili to Media Indonesia, Wednesday (16/10).

“We must not close ourselves off, we must be open to ideas and concepts from outside experts if the aim is to absorb their knowledge for the progress of the nation and state,” he added.

Lili believes that foreign experts are invited to share their experiences and knowledge.

Lili explained that in fact there was no problem bringing in experts from abroad if there were no experts needed in Indonesia.

According to him, Indonesia must not close itself off, it must be open to ideas and concepts from outside experts if the aim is to absorb their knowledge for the progress of the nation and state. (Ykb/M-4)
