SECRETARY General of the Indonesian House of Representatives Indra Iskandar said that the president-elect, Prabowo Subianto and the vice president-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka were invited to attend the 2024 Annual Session on August 16, 2024.
“The elected presidential candidate (Prabowo) was invited, but for the vice presidential candidate (Gibran), we are still reconfirming,” said Indra at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (12/8).
He said that the 2024 Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR – DPD will use ornaments with nuances of typical Indonesian batik.
The ornaments, he said, were the same as those used in the implementation of the MPR RI Annual Session and the DPR-DPD Joint Session in previous years, but this year’s session would be made even more festive.
“But it is different if last year the ornaments were made simpler. This year, maybe a little bit starting from the drop-off to the top, including the lighting, everything looks different. It looks a little less festive physically because this is the last period,” he said.
He also hopes that the implementation of the 2024 MPR RI Annual Session and the DPR-DPD Joint Session can be an example for the implementation of the next annual session in the next leadership period.
“Of course we will also hope that this will be a model for the following years, how Nusantara models can be highlighted during state events,” he said. (Ant/P-5)
