PRESIDENT Prabowo Subianto gathered the general chairman and secretary general (secretary general) of parties supporting the government. The meeting was held at the Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta, Friday (1/11).

According to Medcom.id, one of the party chairmen who was present was NasDem Party Chairperson Surya Paloh. Surya assessed that this meeting was about consultation between political party leaders.

“It’s probably a normal consultation,” said Surya Paloh at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, Friday (1/11).

Surya believes that this meeting will be attended by party leaders supporting the government. The meeting will also include lunch.

“As far as I understand (the party leaders who supported the government were present),” he explained.

Surya appeared to be accompanied by the Chairman of the DPR’s NasDem Party Fraction, Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat.

Meanwhile, the General Chair of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) revealed that this meeting was a normal agenda. Meetings between the President and political party leaders are planned to be routine every week.

“Usually regular meetings. The plan is weekly,” explained Zulhas. (P-5)

**Interview ‍with Political Analyst Dr. Maya Arief on Anies ‍Baswedan’s Comments Regarding⁣ Jokowi-Surya Paloh⁣ Meeting**

**Editor:** Thank you for joining us ⁤today, Dr. Arief. We appreciate your insights on the current political climate in Indonesia. ‍Let’s ⁢dive ‌right in. Anies Baswedan recently referred to ⁢the meeting between President Jokowi⁢ and NasDem‍ Party Chairman Surya‌ Paloh ⁣as “just a ⁢show.” ⁣What do you think he meant⁢ by that?

**Dr. Arief:** Thank you for having me.⁢ Anies Baswedan’s comment suggests that‍ he believes the meeting was more about public perception than substantive political dialogue. In ⁢a politically charged environment, public appearances can often be crafted to convey unity‍ or ‌cooperation without ⁣addressing the underlying‌ issues, ‌particularly as‌ we approach election ⁣season.

**Editor:** ⁤Interesting perspective. Why do you ‍think Anies would make such a statement now?

**Dr. Arief:** Anies is positioning himself as a‍ serious contender for the presidency, and by calling the meeting a “show,” he aims to undermine⁢ the legitimacy of his opponents. He wants to portray himself as⁤ someone who is genuinely committed to addressing the concerns of the ‍public, rather than‌ participating in political theatrics, which resonates with voters looking for authenticity.

**Editor:** Do you believe Anies’s comments will have⁢ an impact on the public’s perception ⁤of Jokowi and Paloh’s meeting?

**Dr. Arief:** Absolutely. In politics, perception is‌ crucial. Anies’s⁤ remarks could lead⁤ to skepticism ⁢among voters regarding the intentions behind such meetings. If voters begin ⁢to view these gatherings as mere ⁣publicity ⁣stunts,‌ it ⁤could erode trust in the current administration and the NasDem Party.

**Editor:** What might be the implications ⁤of such a statement for the upcoming elections?

**Dr. Arief:** ‌It could potentially galvanize his supporters ⁤and‌ attract undecided voters who‌ are fatigued by traditional political displays. If he frames himself as a candidate who is sincere‌ about change, it could significantly influence the electoral landscape ⁣as⁣ we move closer to the elections.

**Editor:** Thank‌ you, Dr. Arief, for sharing your insights on this matter. It will be interesting to⁢ see how this unfolds ⁤in the coming weeks.

**Dr. Arief:** My pleasure. It’s definitely a crucial time⁣ in Indonesian politics, and I look forward to ‍seeing how these dynamics ⁢play out.
