Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto confirmed that he would attend the cabinet meeting on Monday, August 12, 2024. He stated this when he was about to meet President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Presidential Palace today.
“Come along. Why not?” said Prabowo.
In addition, Prabowo said that his aim in meeting President Jokowi was to report on the results of his working visit to Europe on July 24-31, 2024. He had met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“So today I ask for time to report to the president about my visit yesterday to the opening of the Olympics, meeting face to face with President Macron, and several other countries,” he explained.
Previously, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono confirmed that President Jokowi will hold the first cabinet meeting in the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago, on Monday, August 12. The President will depart on Sunday, August 11.
The agenda of the Head of State’s working visit, said Basuki, was not only limited to a joint meeting with the ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet (KIM) but also to laying the first stone (groundbreaking) for a number of development projects.
“Yes, on August 11, he (Jokowi) went there, and on August 12, a cabinet meeting was planned there. (Groundbreaking) in between, he was there from August 11-14, he returned on the 14th, so on those days there was a groundbreaking because on the 13th, I don’t know if this is a leak or not, hopefully it will be open, on the 13th he will invite the governor too,” he said.
