PRESIDENT-elect Prabowo Subianto canceled attending the closing of the sixth congress of the National Awakening Party (PKB) today. The defense minister had an urgent matter.
“Yes, indeed, Mr. Prabowo’s commitment to attend is quite big, but indeed we have to understand the urgent agenda,” said Deputy General Chair of PKB Jazilul Fawaid at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Bali, Sunday (25/8).
Jazilul said his party did not have a problem with Prabowo’s absence from the event. PKB cannot force the President-elect to attend if he is busy.
“The PKB congress committee understands Mr. Prabowo’s weakness without reducing respect, of course we always pray that Mr. Prabowo will be given health to continue to express his thoughts and accept the people’s mandate as best as possible,” said Jazilul.
Jazilul said PKB and Prabowo remain united despite not being present today. The cooperation that was built is also said to be still running.
“We are very sure that from all the processes in PKB, PKB is committed to making Mr. Prabowo’s government a success,” said Jazilul.

Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin was appointed as the general chairman of PKB again. The request was initiated directly by 38 leaders of the PKB regional representative councils (DPW) throughout Indonesia in a congress.
“I accept the request of all my friends to become the new general chairman of PKB,” said Cak Imin at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Bali, Saturday, August 24, 2024.
Muhaimin will become the general chairman of PKB until 2029. The decision was greeted with loud approval from the cadres who attended the conference.
The election of Cak Imin as the general chairman of PKB was carried out by acclamation. In all reports of the PKB DPW, Muhaimin was considered successful in making the party better based on the results of the vote acquisition to the income of seats in the DPR and DPRD throughout Indonesia. (P-5)
