Awami National Party suffered a setback in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where former Caretaker Minister Adnan Jalil decided to join Pakistan People’s Party.
Sources said that Adnan Jalil’s affairs with the People’s Party have been settled and he has also met the leadership of the People’s Party.
Adnan Jalil is the son of late senior ANP leader Haji Adeel who was Minister of Industries and Technical Education in the Caretaker Cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was dismissed from the cabinet by former caretaker chief minister Azam Khan.
The former caretaker minister will soon announce his joining the People’s Party, he will hold a press conference along with the President of the People’s Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Ali Bacha.
Sources said that Adnan Jalil has differences on party matters and he has informed the ANP leadership about his concerns, but the leadership has not yet addressed his concerns.
A few days ago, Abidullah Yousafzai, a close associate of Isfandiar Wali Khan, had quit his party and joined the People’s Party.
Sources said that People’s Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha along with a delegation met Abidullah Yousafzai in Peshawar, during which matters of mutual interest including the political situation of the province were discussed.
The provincial president of PPP invited the ANP leader to join the party which he accepted.
