More than 7,300 homes were plunged into darkness Monday morning, due to power outages on the Hydro-Quebec network caused by strong winds.

The state corporation reported in its report at 3 a.m. of some 7,387 households without electricity, the majority of which in Quebec, Outaouais and Saguenay.

It is in the Capitale-Nationale that the situation seems critical with more than 3,000 Hydro-Québec customers affected by the outages and waiting to be reconnected.

Strongly affected by the recent rains, the Outaouais and Saguenay sectors have also suffered, with nearly 2,600 households in the same situation.

In Centre-du-Québec and Estrie, Hydro-Québec’s report showed 1,090 and 385 households, respectively, waiting for power to be restored.

Hydro-Québec agents were still busy Tuesday morning to resolve the problems inherent in these interruptions which have still not been restored in the province.
