Due to the consequences of the attack that the Russian army inflicted on the Odessa region on the night of March 22, the region is switching to emergency power outages. This was reported in DTEK “Odessa Electric Grids”.
“There are emergency power outages in Odessa and the Odessa region. It is impossible to apply blackouts according to schedules. This is due to the large-scale consequences of nighttime enemy shelling and complex damage to power facilities. Energy workers in the Odessa region are already working to return light to the homes of Ukrainians. However, more is needed to stabilize the region’s energy system time,” the message says.
As noted, as soon as it is possible to return to normal power supply, power engineers will report this.

On the night of March 22, there was a massive attack on Ukraine. At first, the “martyrs” came from the south in several waves. The intense combat work of the air defense units continued.
25 unmanned aerial vehicles of the “Shahed-131/136” type were shot down by the Air Defense Forces: 14 in the Odessa region, 5 in the Kherson region, 4 in the Dnepropetrovsk region and one each in the skies over the Nikolaev region and Zaporozhye. Unfortunately, it was not possible to avoid being hit. The enemy hit energy infrastructure facilities, including in the Odessa region.

Later, the city mayor’s office reported that by decision of the city Commission on Technogenic-Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations in Odessa, measures were introduced for the economical use and conservation of electrical energy.
Until the situation in the energy system of the region and Ukraine as a whole stabilizes, the number of urban electric transport units on routes in Odessa is being reduced by 50%.
The city will also observe a regime for saving the use of street lighting, reducing it to 30-40% either due to a decrease in the intensity of LED lamps, or due to a reduction in the number of street lights turned on.
“Organizations and enterprises should reduce the consumption of electricity, which is spent on street lighting, signs, boards, excess lighting in shops, cafes, shopping and entertainment centers and other establishments. We appeal to Odessa residents to limit the use of energy-intensive appliances during peak hours,” it says message.
